Not sure how much this has been discussed already as I'm working away from home just now which has meant I haven't been out on any rides or socials for a while.
I plan riding both the Merida 100k at Selkirk (31st July) and Sleepless 2 weeks later. If anyone else is serious about SITS, post here and we'll get a team or two (or maybe even three!) organised for SITS again.
I won't be out for another month or so (including March's social) so please use this thread for arrangements.

I'll go for SITS again - it can't be more muddy than last time (can it?)

I'm seriously wanting to do SITS...but I'm not serious about doing it....erm...Anyone willing to except a fat, beer soaked, slow git on there team.
If there are folks out there just wanting to go and have fun, and aren't looking to seriously compete then I'd love to tag along.

No problem with me having more 'relaxed' individuals on the team, it gives me more time in my kip!
I doubt anyone will be looking at the clock all that much or seriously counting laps - it's a great event for all and, for me, is more about completing it and having a good time than speed.
Bring on the fat, beer-soaked, slow gits.

OK Scotty -D,
Just tell me when and where to sign on the dotty line. I will be in peak condition having completed the Merida 100 in a personal best of at least (hopefully) 2nd last place.
Hmm...what tyres for SITS?

SITS: I'm in the mood for some more pain - put me down for the serious (well, semi-serious) team! I'd be happy with a repeat of last years SITS - that was serious enough for me - minus the mud, of course
I'm trying to enrol Jo to help out as a 'helper' too! Although if I do them none of you are sharing my tent this year!
Merida: not sure yet!
10 under the Ben: I'd be interested in this too - anyone fancy getting a team together for this?

Crispin, I think you'd mentioned this before!?

Yep, I'm up for 10undertheben as well. Although again, I'd be more of a participant than serious competitor.

Is there any way of sorting out an online team roster type of thing. Or should we all just turn up at a club social and be suddenly transported 20 yrs into the past and put through the humiliation of school team style picking. Oh please, please...let them pick me before 1 eyed, peg-leg Johnson.

Beagy et al,
in my experience (and I didn't get where I am today without a bit of experience, you know) it's better to organise these things at a social as you always get people who say they are 'dead keen' but never actually do it. Once you ask them for the £47 entry fee for SITS, you don't see them again until September. However, as I won't be at the March social, I think this one shold be different, so yeah, names for the semi-serious team here and names for the
lardy boys
sorry, not-so-serious there.

As I said above, what would be the best way to organise this? It would be cool if we could get a big group of us going down to SITS. Is there any way we could post a list on this site for (a)serious racers (b) singlespeed looneys (c)beer drinkers.
Or, is there any way of keeping this topic up near the top of the board.
Sorry to harp on, but I'm really desperate to do both this and the Ben Nevis enduro, and I need to find others who are non-competitive minded and are willing to give me a lift down.

Would this not be a good occasion to see about hire/use of a minibus and bike trailer? Is it SSC that have a mini bus, that as affiliates we can use?
I happy to drive down, and maybe squeeze in one other, as well as my own personal pit crew, if the above is not a goer!
