Awesome pics Glen. Neil's looking for pics to use for a MTBing slideshow to be displayed at the Carron Valley open day - I'm sure he'd be interested in bigger versions of those

I know its a mountain bike event, but they may have friends or indeed themselves be into road cycling
Also, please send me your music recomendations for the slideshow,

That rocked
Me, John H and Andy-freshly-groomed-on-STW-but-normally-lives-in-Selkirk were out for a blatter. Across the Three Fields, upto the reservoir, along the last two cliffs, finishing with a grin-inducer through Cambu
Where were you?

Superb!
Contoured across the Touch Hills, across the tank-driving range, finishing with N3 and Cambu.

Was down at GT today with Rory(Scottoiler), Ally S, Jo, plus a few other mates - unfortunately it all ended in tears for me
. Came off as I was "just-riding-along" and knackered my ankle. No broken bones but a lot of soft tissue damage. Pretty much immobile at the moment as I cannae even put weight on it yet let alone cycle. Not sure how long I'm gonna be out for but my personal Doc assures my these injuries are worse than breaks... Cheers for telling me that!!!
Anyway, here's some totally unrelated pics from Tuesday night's Dumyat excursion - see what you think.
Dumyat pics - scroll to the bottom 12 pics!
A very pissed-off and sore Ally

Great ride today, conditions were perfect, company was superb (a pleasure to have met the living legend that is Canadian Scott at last ) The best thing is that we get to do it again next week.

Is the Touch Hill ride still on?

Well today I made a video with my digital camera.
Watch it
here.
It took about 20 minutes to make it so it's really not that great.
Feel free to rate and slate!

Oo-yah nasty bugger.
Well, arranged with jo to do a lap round carron valley this evening as her work for the day had been done and I was sitting home watching things age. Got round in the partial rain partial sun, some lovely scenes with rain falling through the forest with the suns rays illuminating it from behind.
All went well, the fun park was last on the list and again all went well... at first!
I was finding my way over the doubles, getting my wheels off the ground for a reasonable length of time. I was pedalling like mad into the doubles, fingers well away from the brakes, and landing them smooth as you like.
Coming into the home straight, first two jumps followed the previous lead. A slightly mis-angled take-off, however, turned into a slightly mis-angled landing which bucked me sideways off my new-found black bouncy friend and sliding across those evilly sharp pebbles they use for all of these trails (why, oh why!).
As I went down I suppose I tried the kick-boxer defence 'elbows out'. One particularly malicious rock chose to chew an inch square out of my otherwise perfect elbow skin, and sublayers of flesh, with mr ulna popping out to say hello to the world for the first time in a while! (apparently there was deep-fascia rupture
)
This results in Livingston A&E being the next port of call where ones good lady happens to be 5 minutes from finishing her shift! Her face when she saw me giving my personals to the dippy receptionist! "Aren't you just here to pick me up after work?",
"No, darling, I have been to war!"
They have decided it needs a d**n good scrubbing due to a handfull of grit lodged inside my arm; this is meant to be a very vigorous process with a stiff brush, thus requiring me to be gassed for it! So my holiday monday off with the wench has turned into gasification and a hefty scrubbing!
Might not be out for a couple of weeks.
On the plus side, picked up a couple very good sets of wheels today for not too much moolah! Does anyone want to swap a mavic 321 on hope for a light xc wheel??

d**n Dan, I can relate to being destroyed on the doubles! Tthe first couple on the last straight away (if that makes sense) chewed me up and spat me out with a dislocated clavicle last year, it wasn't much fun and kept me off the bike for 2 months. I had an inherent fear of doubles afterwards.
As a result I've only just started doing doubles again, and am still somewhat tentative...for what it's worth I can also relate to the scrubbing of the skin with a metal brush to remove grit....fortunately to date I've never had a compound fracture.....better go knock on the bedroom pine cupboard! Hope you heal quickly! Get us some photies!!
