30th May - Bank Holiday at Drumlanrig

Those lucky enough to officially shirk work on Monday are planning a pedal somewhere.
After nearly suffering hypethermia in the Ochils we decided that we would head S to sample the rooty delights of Riks trails at Drumlanrig Castle. Beautiful grounds if you wish t bring a non biking partner
Entry is £5 each - maybe a bit steep when you can usually ride for free - but they claim it all goes to the upkeep of the trails.
Probably leaving Stirling around 9:00 but we still need to finalise car sharing etc.
We might even wander down for a look at Ae afterwards - not that I've discussed that part with anyone else.

I will meet you guys there as I will go directly from Torphichen. Are you aiming for being at Drumlanrig for about 10:30?

I'll aim to pick Beagie up at about 9:00 - if I can find his house again - and we should be there about 10:30

I might make it, but am still full of cold, so it will be a last minute decision. Will text you in the morning.

Pretty much spent the last 24hrs defrosting in the shower! I'll be ready tomorrow morning, with full winter kit packed just in case!
Steve, my addy is 73 Chestnut Cres, FK6 6LF
See you tomorrow

Mark will join us to see if he still knows how to turn pedals after a year as a hedonistic student (or cramming for his finals as he puts it
)
Jo
The riding is not too strenuous or exposed. If you are going down I'll bring Mark round so you can have company on the way down

I am planning to head down... I think the wine is curing me
Will be great to see Mark again, bet he still puts us all to shame
- but he might prefer a 'cough free' trip down with you and Beagy
I can take someone if needed, but would like to reserve the right to cut it short and head home early if I'm feeling bad
just let me know.

Three of us are heading down to Innerleithen and leaving Sauchie at about 0800hrs but as ther will be two MTB'rs and me
I might ask the driver to divert to Drumlanrig - I have not been to/cycled/skidded/crashed at either of these venues - but it would be nice to look up from the ditch at another SBC jumper if the worst happens.
I have been down to the Castle before as thats where the road sportive leaves from, so know how to get there.
Would be good to get some advice on riding trails from good guys (and guyettes)
Might see you there,
Archie.

Hope you had a good day at Drumlanrig folks, it was looking quite grey and wet over to the west but only the single heavy shower at Innerleithen.
First time on one of the 'centres' with trails and constructed jumps/berms etc, BRILL!!
Played on the Red run before heading up to the Cairn and then descending all the way to the car park, then round to Glentress Cafe for a few bacon sarnies, before over confidence or fatigue led to a severely bashed roadie
Archie.
