Phew, it's the weekend at last! Time to kick off our shoes and relax in front of the telly with a nice big G 'n' T.   8)

Or........we could go out and play on our bikes?  ;)

So, the usual meeting place Saturday morning in Costa Coffee, across from Graham Tiso's at 9am if you want some coffee before the 9.30am kickoff. The usual crowd will be out for a loop around the local trails.

If anyone fancies a longer ride then let us know so those that are interested can bring extra supplies and kit. I was wondering about trying Crispin's / Steve_B's suggested loop of climbing to the summit of Ben Cleuch via Silver Glen ( John, you might want to bring the Boardman  ;) ), then descending via Ben Ever and Wood Hill. Anyone fancy that? Or if anyone has a better suggestion, post it up!  ;D

Tomas and me are planning to ride this tomorrow and you're welcome to join us.
We're meeting at Flying Fox Bikes at 10:30am - this should give you plenty of time to bimble across from Costa (I might even head to Costa myself if I'm awake in time).

The run should take 3hrs or so - it's about the same length as a Andrew Gannel run.

Ooooh, that sounds like a plan! First though, could you double check with Tomas that he's Ok with us tagging along? As you know, I'm a snail on the climb up Silver Glen, and not much faster on the descent! Big John (if he appears), isn't much faster than me either.   :P The rest of the chaps can all give you a run for your money though.  ;)

We'll just leave him and any other fast boys sitting in the Flying Fox cafe drinking coffee and browsing shiny bike parts while the backmarkers get a headstart on the climb.

I'm coming out to play tomorrow but have to be back in Stirling by 1 so won't have time to do Ben C (shame coz I really enjoyed my solo epic last Fri out that way).  For some reason I feel a blast on the Yat could be the preferred order of the am alternative ;)

hey paul how did jeanette get on with the WHW race,  driving up to ft william after work on sat night i was very puzzled to find the whole of glen orchy from tyndrum up to bridge of orchy filled with hundreds of LED's (was an impressive sight to see), this was just after 2am. i was actually quite happy when i remembered that jeanette had said she was doing this race and that the stars had not actually fallen from the sky onto the WHW ;D

so anyway, left the car at nevis range at about quarter to 4 in the half light already covered in a thousand midge bites to do the ben nevis circuit. to cut a long story short it is mostly WHW and landy track joining a few sections of fun rocky singletrack but feels a lot easier than the 45mile distance should do. made it back to the car just after 11:30 very happy that for the 1st time ever my day out (7.45hr)was under the guide book approximation (8-12hr).

highpoints of the day.
some very good "remote" feeling landscapes.
a bunch of female students in their pants messing about in the river at luibelt.
finding a new and very nice pair of gloves on a rock in the middle of nowhere (noone i asked had come the same way as me)
seeing a pinemartin from a few metres away.

lowpoints of the day.
a bunch of female students acting like a sweaty hairy guy suddenly appearing in the early morning mist while they are in a river in their pants is a bad thing ???
the many kamikaze deer especially over rannoch moor.
