It was good to take part in this it was only my second outing with the skinny tyres bunch, everyone I met was very friendly and only my legs were unforgiving and ultimately denied me any cake! I didn't know Lew personally but I'm sure I would have wanted to given the turn out for him.

Yup, brilliant day, well organised and a HUGE thank you to the SBC Committee and all the volunteers on the day that made it superb.

Only one regret really - I let Jim Tierney carry my fruit loaf home in his car as some of us had ridden in and out of the hillfoots to get the total mileage over the ton.

As Jay says - there are no cake rules - I've not seen the fruit loaf since Saturday
