MTB Rides March 2012
« on: March 05, 2012, 10:20:11 AM »
I'm thinking I might head out for a spin around Torwood and Plean tonight. I'll probably aim to be up at the entrance to Plean Park for 7pm if anyone fancies joining me.

Beagy

p.s. Tonight's tipple is Bruichladdich   ;)
"Ship?" he called. "Yup?" said the ship. "Do what I do." The ship thought about this for a few milliseconds and then, after double checking all the seals on its heavy-duty bulkheads, it began slowly, inexorably, in the hazy blaze of its lights, to sink to the lowest depths. -Douglas Adams

Beagy,

You still planning on 7 at PCP?  Have a last minute pass so will aim to be there for  7.  Haven't ridden PCP for ages!!

Really enjoyed last night's ride, thanks for dragging me out guys!

The trail skirting around the South side of Plean park was really well drained and sweet, except for the boggy bits, but they're always like that!  >:D

A big thank-you to the driver of the car who'd parked in a darkened corner of the park, but turned his car to face us then popped his headlights on so that I could see to change my punctured tyre. Thank-you sir, that was very decent of you. Of course, it also meant that we couldn't see you in your car.....as you sat there in a dark and isolated corner of Plean park.....but I'm sure your reasons for being there were entirely legitimate and innocent.  ::)

Torwood was fabulously dry and fast as well as being 'tar pit' boggy, but I still loved it. Maybe not so the numerous occasions where I lost the trail or ran into obstacles from constantly riding in my own shadow, but at least I didn't gouge my leg open on a tree this time.......yes, I'm looking at you Dougie.... ;)

Great night out, such a pity we haven't had more of them this winter, but the weather and conditions just haven't been with us. Here's looking forward to Spring!  ;D

Anyone thinking of heading out to King's Park for 7pm tonight?

Pros

1. It's a full moon tonight
2. The current solar storm might give us a spectacular aurora
3. Tomorrow's Friday, and no-one really works on a Friday.

Cons

1. I'm not feeling very enthusiastic
2. It's wet
3. It's very muddy

Help me?

B.  :)

Forget about con 1, it's irrelevant, cons 2 and 3 can be seen as pros in a roundabout way

I'm with Steven - Con 2 and 3 aren't actually cons, they just add to the variety. Con 1 should be put back in it's box as once you get out you'll love it...the force is strong in this one...make use of it and get out and do it!

Did I mention No.4?

Con No.4..... I just remembered that I rolled Victoria into the garage on Monday night and left her there to fossilize.... encased in Torwood's finest clay mixture.  :P

I might have to go at her with a chisel!  :o However, thing's are brightening up here in Glasgow, as is my mood, so at the moment I reckon I'll be heading into Stirling tonight.

Lucky chap...I was hoping to escape out on teh bike and just been reminded about a 'meeting' that my 'good' lady has so I'm definitely not out tonight!

Enjoy the riding wherever it be!

Pro No.4: The trails over this side are really nowhere near as bad as they could be in the circumstances.

Pro No.5: Big Ali has removed even more trees from the trails - from Witches Craig this time.

Hey Pedro,

I truly, deeply hope that you mean he's just been clearing fallen trees from the trails? He's not one of these 'helpful' chaps who've gone out and cut down the trees from the final N3 descent. Turning it into a simple straight line, rather than the technical, twisting and turning joy it used to be.  :-\

The trees that Ali's clearing are all most definitely pining for the Norwegian fjords.
