How good was that!

Dry trails, fast riding...could have been summer.

I'm feeling a bit iffy at the moment  :P , but the promise of dry...ish trails has me excited about heading out tonight. So if my tummy settles down I'll aim to be at King's Park for 7pm. If you fancy joining me, post up and I'll let you know if I'm going to make it or not.

Sorry I can't be more definite. For once, I'm wholeheartedly up for a ride, but my tummy is churning, I'm feeling a wee bit sick and the walk up two flights of stairs to my lab has left my legs like jelly.  :-X

Hopefully feel better in a bit. Darn this morning sickness!

I'm afraid I'm going to pass on tonight's ride. I'm still not feeling quite chipper. Sorry Stew.  :-[

That was amazing! Superbly dry and still night, just myself out so I rode along the N3 cliffs listening to music (wild bashing and screaming) which seemed to make me ride faster.

There's some kind of amphibian orgy going on out there, saw dozens of toads all over the place, even some newts. Luckily nobody was around to hear my manly scream when I almost rode into a big black bull standing right in the middle of the road outside the quarry in the pitch dark.

The drive-side bearing on Josephine (my Five), collapsed after Saturday's ride down Dumyat. I suspect it was in sympathy with Ian's ribs.  >:D Anyway, I'm awaiting a replacement bearing set through the post before I can take her out again. Meanwhile I went for a spin on Victoria (my P7) on Sunday, but she felt very rough. On closer inspection, it was revealed that the axle on my rear Hope XC hub has sheared in two, probably from pushing her too hard as I fled the 'Things In The Dark' last Monday night.  :(

My plan tonight is to attempt to bodge a working mavic hub together from old parts so I can hopefully get out for the regular Thursday night ride from King's Park at 7pm.

Will keep you posted!

B.  :P

p.s. Manu, the Wednesday night gang generally meet at the bench under the tree, just after the wee zebra crossing and beside a big flat concrete platform. If you know the Uni, it's just before the Library.
