Craig,

I'll try and make it out as well, although I've been struggling to get out of work early recently. I'll do my best, but don't wait if I'm not there by 7pm.

"Ship?" he called. "Yup?" said the ship. "Do what I do." The ship thought about this for a few milliseconds and then, after double checking all the seals on its heavy-duty bulkheads, it began slowly, inexorably, in the hazy blaze of its lights, to sink to the lowest depths. -Douglas Adams

On my way (once I've changed out of my jammies).  ;)

What a cracker of a day!

Myself, Stew, Dom, Colin, Howard and Andrew headed out from Costa's this morning aiming for North 3rd's trails. Early on we lost Dom as a spoke spanged on his Cross bike. Seriously Dom, it's trying to tell you something. It's good for hooning around a muddy field, maybe not so ideal on N3, or anything else for that matter.  ;)

The next casualty was myself. With Howard setting a stiff pace on the way up to Cambu woods, and then stating his intention to bypass them altogther, I declined to follow the group and started climbing up through the woods solo, rather than around them on tarmac. Dude, I appreciate that you had stuff to get home for and therefore wanted to keep the pace high and shortcut to your favourite bits, but I didn't. When I'm out on a Saturday, I'm out for the day.  ::)

Anyway, climbing up through Cambu on my own, it occurred to me that here I was on what are generally the driest trails in the area during a really long dry spell. Where I should have been was taking advantage of the dry trails in a traditionally much muddier setting! So, I about turned and headed over to the dry, dusty and marvelous Dumyat. Coming down off the Yat, I detoured around Toilet Flush, only to discover treemaggedon. So I dragged the bike through the carnage, then down through Pendreich to the dusty....yes I said dusty Mine Woods. By this point Kerry had phoned and arranged to meet for lunch at Barga's, so I passed up Kippenrait in favour of a full English. Yummy!  ;)

Brilliant ride, even if it wasn't quite how I'd thought it was going to go. I'm off to Vegas to get married (again) now, so I'll see you all again in a couple of weeks. Keep the trails dry for me please.  ;)

Did a 4 hour tour of Plean Park (take every path possible!) and Torwood. Mega dry, so good to be riding some trails that I have not seen dry for LONG time. Vida enjoyed it too. Torwood even had that dry warm pine needle wood smell that you only get on dry summer days. Good to be out.
