Archie the sugars ran out after 2 laps  ::)
My garmin was showing about 22mph average to the end of the 2nd lap.
Out of curiosity what were the time gaps last night?

Out of curiosity what were the time gaps last night?

About two and a half weeks between me and the sprint finish.  :-\

Its usually about 2-3 minutes depending on the number of groups, but we were working ok (22mph ave) and still caught on the second lap  :(

Marko van Leadbelter was in the 2nd bunch and must have led them all out on one of his famous 'all-day-stay-away-breaks'  ;)  ;D

Think gaps were 4mins between each group (there were 4 groups)  :)

Can I just say that last night was brilliant.

I arrived at Chalmerston road feeling tired and weary, due to the general travails of working/family life, and set off in the 2nd group wondering if I'd make it all the way round.

By the end I found I had dug deeper possibly than ever before– 2nd group almost stayed away and the surge of adrenaline that kept us going for a mile or so before the catch was a thrill.

I heard Andy Wilson (the Falkirk/V44 one) saying "I wish I could race like that" at the end- never a truer word. I wish I could time trial like that too!

Sometimes you have days like that, other days you go into it feeling great but your pumped by the end of the first lap.

For me last night first group felt too slow so I tried to hold on to the second group on the second lap but that was just too fast after Thornhill.

thought first group worked very well, missed Scooby after puncture. When I got dropped on 2nd lap shortly after 2nd group caught us on the drag up to Doune my ave speed was over 22mph, which I thought was not bad.
Sounds like the 2 nd group was very strong.
Maybe first group need another 2mins or could we do with 4 groups?

Yeah 2nd caught 1st too soon Jim- it was end lap 1/start lap2. Think about options for next week- extend the gap or some 2nd groupers move up? (I'm feart) It was mostly the same 2nd group bodies as normal though, bar Ally Booth who raised the average a bit I think!

Someone said ther are roadworks on the A873 near the junction of the A84 this week, might affect the regular circuit.

Bit late notice, and regulars might already be aware of this (I've been away for several weeks), but thought I woudl give a heads up anyway.

http://my.stirling.gov.uk/roadworks

"Reason: Temp road closure - resurfacing works 0900 - 1800 hours
Streets affected: A873"

Any info from on the ground?
