Who's all out Saturday then?

I finally caved and got an uppy-downy seatpost which needs a good test run!

Any new folks that are interested in coming along you are very welcome, you'll want to bring a bike, helmet, suitable clothing and enough food/fluids to keep you going for a few hours. We meet at Costa Coffee in Stirling city center from 9am aiming to leave around 9:30am.

Hi guys,

Finally got my account created! I should be out tomorrow morning.

Heading to Carron Valley this afternoon about 2ish if anyone is around? Liking the dropper post Stew, thinking of getting a Reverb myself.

Hi folks I have been talking to a guy called Douglas Stainton on twitter who is keen to join the SBC MTB ride tomorrow. Asked me to post up on his behalf as his forum account hasnt been released yet by El Bartonio. He'll be at costa for the 9:30 group.

Well that was fun!

Thrills (and spills) around N3, trails were still pretty dry despite the snow and rain earlier this week. Met up with Douglas at Costa, nice chap with good bike skills hope to see him out again!

trail spotters will notice some trail narrowing measures in mine woods - just some large rocks by the side of the trail at star wars.  this is to solve the huge muddy mess after this winter and make the trail more "eco".  try not to ride into the rocks!

the widening of the trail was caused by a BoA local who was caught placing large logs across the trail - this caused walkers and bikers to go around the logs thus widening the trail and making it super muddy.  You will have seen some comments about bikers in last weeks Stirling Observer - this is just an anti-bike campaign by people who know the guy who was arrested and charged.  Of course, their proposal to ban cyclist from offroad paths cannot be taken forward due to the existing countryside access act.

mine woods trails are used on average by 12 walkers to every 1 cyclist.

Who caught him? Joe Public or a bikey?

As a court case is  pending it is best to minimise chatter on this subject.
The club MTB reps know the background and will be no doubt be happy to inform you over a beer or two.

Meanwhile, the Stirling Observer article to which Callum refers is here:
clicky.

And my response was published last Wednesday:  clicky

Hey folks!

Sorry I didn't make it out at the weekend and hopefully the tummy bug I'm suffering from at the moment will pass in time for this Saturday's ride. However, this doesn't detract from how awesome the trails have been, eh?

Here's me playing around on the local trails on Friday, it was brilliant. Although I was very nearly taken out by a freakin' Squirrel Chipmunk! Grrr!  >:(

"Ship?" he called. "Yup?" said the ship. "Do what I do." The ship thought about this for a few milliseconds and then, after double checking all the seals on its heavy-duty bulkheads, it began slowly, inexorably, in the hazy blaze of its lights, to sink to the lowest depths. -Douglas Adams
