Me!

Can you manage a 7 o'clock kick off from the Uni, meeting at Darn Walk at 6.30?

I'm aiming for King's Park at 7pm tonight if anyone cares to join me. I was out around Plean / Torwood on Tuesday night and believe it or not (whisper) the trails were dry:o So I feel I need to get out and make the most of it!

Drop me a line if you fancy meeting up so that I'm not pedaling all the way into Stirling for a solo.  ;)

Stew,

it'll be more of an evening ride than a night ride - no lights needed at 9 o'clock last night.  Have fun!

Like me, Stew still has to negotiate some pretty horrendous unlit roads on his way home, plus now we're into 'summertime'  ::) we can stay out a bit later. 9pm is a bit early for bedtime, even on a school night.  ;) So I'll be bringing my lights, even though I've just remembered they haven't been charged in a loooong while, and I'd recommend anyone else thinking of coming out to do the same.  8)

I'll be along tonight at King's park.  Making only my second appearance after breaking my rib on the way down Dumyatt on my first ride in March.

Superb ride last night! A gorgeous clear evening saw us heading up around Cambu and over to the Trig point at N3. As I desperately tried to hang onto the coattails of Stewie, Manu and Ian (young whipper-snappers the lot of em'), I couldn't help but feel the climb was a little bit easier than last time. Is dry air lighter?

Up at the Trig point I declined to sit at my usual spot for a breather,  :-X, so with the chill wind quickly cooling us down we headed onwards. A brief logjam at the switchback corner of the steps led to me stopping at the back, then as I rolled towards the final three steps I couldn't get clipped in. I cleared the 1st step, but with way too much speed, clipped the 2nd step with my pedal..............

I'd say the quantity of blood I spilt was satisfactory. Enough to make Mrs Beagleboy roll her eyes when I got home, but not enough to make me light headed or anything.  >:D

Onwards and the 2nd cliff went by in a near dusty blur, then the finale as we sped through the final cliff's rooty, funtastic trail delights just as the light began to fail. From here, I bid farewell and headed home for a very stingy shower as the rest of the guys aimed for a final descent down through Cambu in the gathering darkness. Excellent fun, and as ever, the company couldn't be faulted. Thanks for giving me the incentive to drag myself away from the telly dudes.

Last night was ace!

Will not mention Manu's acrobatics in Cambu woods on the way back, but I think he now deserves to have a certain tree named after him...

We had a great ride as well. Myself, Richard and Tina parted from the main group in Uni woods as they headed for Dumyat whilst we decided to go for a more dignified (I was too hungover), low level loop. Uni woods, Mine woods and Kippenrait are bone dry, fast and awesome at the moment. We finished off with coffee and cake at Barga's and then I squeaked my way home. The squeak turned out to have been one of my shock bolts. I promise that I'll whack threadlock on it this time, honest. Thank's for the company guys, had a great laugh and hope to see you all out again soon!
