Hey Beagy, great to see you again up Dumyat and glad you're realising the error of your ways with regard to not riding!

It was really good seeing you as well Pete. I'm still in awe though. The Lew Weaver Memorial ride on Saturday then you went up Dumyat twice on Sunday. You must have thighs of steel man.

Yesterday's ride was really cathartic, I think the dry and dusty trails were just what I needed to inject a wee bit of enthusiasm into my legs again. So to keep that feeling rolling I'm heading out again tonight for a spin around my local trails. If anyone wants to join me for the Tour de Plean-Torwood loop then give me a shout or meet me at the main gates of Plean Park at 7pm.

The sun is shining and the trails are drying!  ;)

I'll see you there...I spotted you last night going through the town and you looked focussed...so if that sort of stuff can be shared then I'm hoping tonight will have me in a similar position!

(I was heading over there anyway so likley to bump into you)
I didn't earn the right to wear that top...I was the only one it fitted!

Brilliant ride last night, even if no-one was there to see how awesome I was!

The singletrack around the periphery of Plean Park is almost bone dry, (except for the really boggy bits  >:D ), and was riding superbly last night. Even to the point that I was glad of a wee mechanical so I could sit down for five minutes and pretend to fix my bike, whilst really just waiting for the purple spots to fade from my eyesight!

Up to Torwood and I climbed the usual descent then dropping off the steep side of the Broch took a fun wee trail back down to the road before climbing back up via another route. Superb trails and great, enjoyable, technical climbs......yes, I really did say I enjoyed the climbs.....that's how good they are.  :o

Headed back home as the Midges began to nip via the Denovan track that has been recently resurfaced. No more balancing in the mud between slipping into the stream on one side or the barb wired fence on t'other.  :-\

Finally got home feeling thoroughly pleased with myself after a really enjoyable ride. It wasn't all happy days though. It's with a sad heart that I have to report the demise of my beloved rear tyre. A huge gash in the sidewall sending it to the great 'recycle bin in the back garden'. Yes, it may have had the drag coefficient of a Sherman tank and the most unpredictable 'break point' of any tyre I've ever had, as well as being lethal on wet roots, wet rocks....actually dry roots and rocks as well.....but it had one glorious redeeming factor. It was called a Velociraptor.

Sorry to duck out of the ride at the last minute. Seemed crazy to drive somewhere on such a lovely evening when dumyat & the bluebells in the woods were beckoning. Wish we had joined you now given poor Lesley's accident :'(.

Does the offer of a trail guide stand for next week?

I have a stock of these in my man cave if you want them. Free to a good home.
Can leave out for you to pick up on your way home on Saturday or something.

Life's too short to hurtle into trees backwards.

Such sympathy :o.

No pics (us girls offer sympathy not cameras in times of need) although her thumb did look a very odd shape and that was after she'd popped it back into it's right position. Euch.

My life has meaning again! I shall happily swap you a nice bottle of something red if you have a rear in decent nick. This will continue a trend as the tyre that has so sadly passed away came from Jo in exchange for a bacon sarnie at 10 Under the Ben last year!

Of course, I'd be honoured to show you all around my local trails.

Vida and myself were out last evening too. Rode up to and around CV then back home. More people up there than I expected. Dust pools are forming!

Looking forward to Plean Park Torr wood later in the week. Aim too anyway.

Tomorrow's ride should be amazing, 20+ degrees!?

I'll be out so long as my new mech arrives (had incident with a branch on Tuesday).
