Stevie and Barry,

Yes we're heading up at Fri lunch but no problem if your coming up a bit later.  Should have enough bike carriers to drop of the 'support vehicle' on Fri evening in Applecross with capacity for 5 for the return on Saturday.

We'll be at 'the wee camp site' at Loch Carron but will PM our contact numbers  (there was good 02 reception in Loch Carron last year).

Have refined the route since last post based on further research (less climbing/ pushing but slightly longer) also have a route in mind for Sunday morning should you want to stay on for 4 hours before heading home.

The two softies are booked into the hostel  ;)

OK with hike-a-bike and distance but given the company I will be the one at the back watching for stragglers! So 8 hours might be a bit optimistic.

I  had a look at some info on the path to Applecross from Inverbain - if I'm looking at the right one it seemed to suggest pushing on the climb so could be an hour for that bit alone?

If you pm numbers I can contact you to confirm our travel times - hopefully should be leaving just after 2:00

Yep - 2 night stay.  I've booked the Lochcarron campsite for 3 tents (me, Howard and Neil) for the 2 nights.

Miserable - you missed nothing

- hostel with 9 in an dorm and 1 super loud snorer meant an hour or 2 of sleep
- hours of carry a bike meant bruised shoulders
- descents that would be unrideable for many

Don't know what all the fuss is about

but if you don't believe me my phots are here

http://www.flickriver.com/photos/26693195@N03/sets/72157629930961766/

See what I mean  :P

and yes that does say a max temp of 39 deg

On a serious note

- big thanks to the guys for their patience
- I probably wouldn't have ridden a lot of the descent without you in front of me
- special thanks to Howard for making it possible - both in arranging and sorting out my bike - and to Barry for driving

Some lessons

- take ear plugs if staying in hostel
- get fitter - lots fitter before trying again  ::)

Great photos Steve. Wasn't that just the best weekend's MTB-ing ever?  Thanks to Howard for driving, and everyone else for their company and good humour.

Glad you didn't get any close-ups of the skinny dipping in the lochs. Can't wait to see Neil's video of the downhill, when he finds the time to post it up...

When are we going back?
