had to go into minor injuries in Stirling and have them clean/stick my elbow back together, the nurse turned out to be a keen MTB'er!

You sly old dog!  ;)

Hopefully I won't feel the need to chat up the nurses tonight as I head out for my regular Monday night spin. I'm thinking of a lap around Cambu woods and N3 for a wee change. If anyone fancies joining me, I should be at the usual spot in King's Park (at the wee pedestrian gate just up from the tennis courts), at 7pm. Post up or drop me a line if you're coming so I know to make the effort to head in.

Agreed! Beagie & TC, thanks for the ride and company on Saturday!  ;)

Worth pointing out that my new shoes which I didn't want to ruin in the stream were then covered in sheep & cow muck immediately after the river when we were cycling through those fields. Oh the irony!

Stew, sounds lovely! Hope you're doing ok soon dude.

Gonna pass as I can't afford to end up at A&E as appears to be the current trend - we need at least one person who can drive for our hols in spain.

Have fun,

Found out why the lowest gear was jumping last saturday. Unfortunately, I only found out when I was trying to cycle up the Path of Condie path  :o and couldn't get it to go into the 3 lowest gears on the granny cog (which may be Ok for some of the stronger, fitter, experienced MTBers, but not for me!)

It appears that I have managed to break the top off one tooth on the smallest front ring, AND appear to have bent the remaining bit of it over !!!!  :-[ Not sure how the heck I managed that one, but fortunately, someone in the village fixed it for me AND also took my main crank bearings etc to pieces and sorted out the not very good factory lubrication (or lack of) which was also causing a grinding noise......  8) all good to go - if only the weather felt like co-operating.  i would never have spotted that problem without help.

Anyway, hope to catch up with you all again soon.

shall I bring the snorkel and flippers for this saturdays ride then????  Is anyone else out to play?
I think half of Scotland was on the move today for their holidays, so not sure who will be about, but am hoping that if I make the effort to get down to Stirling from up here in (not very sunny) Perthshire, that someone who knows where they are going might be out to play.....???
At least the forecast is a bit better anyway.

Anyone fancy going out for a spin tomorrow? maybe a wee jaunt up Dumyat or a blunder through N3? Post up or drop me a line if you fancy heading out and we can arrange time and place.  O0

Would have liked to, but got to go south tomorrow..... on the plus side, that is because I am picking up another bike  :)

We missed your company today, however, it was a good ride out, if a tad on the muddy side, and I really should have brought the snorkel and flippers.   We did middle third, Cambo etc - a few new bits for me, but all good, and really enjoyed it  Just 4 of us out again, me Stu, Jamie and Andy, and I swear every time Jamie put his jacket on, the sun came back out !!!

If anyone is kicking about this week, and the weather isn't too crap, I am on holiday, but Wed/Thursday are 'free' days, ie when the work getting done at the house does not require my presence, so I can go out to play. If anyone is up for a day out - let me know. If there are 1-2 other folk, we could think about somewhere further afield????

Looks like Dom and I are heading down to Glentress tomorrow. We're leaving here about 10am so will be down there about 11ish if anyone wants to join us.
