Hi Beagy,
Not sure what route to Blackford you are thinking of, but I suspect that Ben Cleuch will be soaking just now...
Only working on the fact that it was about as wet as I have ever seen it when we headed over to Kings Seat, and it hasn't stopped raining since
Will it drain much in a week?

Another option for a day out in the wilderness is Glen Feshie -> Glen Tilt and then get the train back from Pitlochry to Aviemore. Glen Feshie is magic and the upper end of Glen Tilt has some superb singletrack to play on. Make sure you book your bike on the train for the way back though.

Thanks for the input Steve, but seeing as none of us have any form of transport other than the bikes, trying to get to Aviemore and back in a day via public transport might take the shine off the ride a bit.
I've still got to pluck up the courage to speak to Mrs Beagleboy about Sunday, (I promise I'll do it tonight), but if all is well I'll aim to be at Logie Kirk carpark for 10am on Sunday with a plan to head up Silver Glen, trudge through the bog to Ben Buck, then paddle up to the top of Ben Cleuch, (I'm hoping it'll have dried up a bit since Jo's ride though!). From there, I'll head over to the summit of Andrew Gannel, before striking out towards Blackford via the track on the northern side of Upper Glen Devon reservoir into Glen Bee and down to the northern end of the Sherrifmuir road.
If memory serves me right, it usually takes me till about 2pm ish to hit this road, then it's a 30 minute climb back over to the Sherrifmuir Inn for beers and munchies. The whole ride, plus lunch stops (but not counting commute time
), is probably in the 6hr range. It's in remote countryside, at altitude with limited bail out options. If you reckon you're up for it though, I'd be glad of the company!

Has the weather 'gone orf' again?
Hmmm, will leave it till nearer the weekend then to make a final call. Wouldn't be much fun up there if it's wee-ing down and blowing a hoolie.

I'm hoping it'll have dried up a bit since Jo's ride though!
I'm hoping that Copper will learn to make me tea and toast in the morning
Seriously - If the weather is mince then I could be looking to ride (I know that sounds wrong, but if the weather is good then I get to go kayaking). I am trying to think of a local route which is 'all weather' enough not to be a mud fest, and has some tree protection against the elements...
If it's really dreich I don't suppose that you would be interested in a morning at CV would you?

Sorry, my mum passed away rather suddenly yesterday. Not sure what I'm going to be up to over the next few days.
