Who wrote that???
« on: June 14, 2012, 01:43:01 PM »
Desperately trying to avoid doing actual work, so I clicked on the MTB tab on the left hand side of the club website, then I clicked on the MTB Rides and the 'General Information' link.   ???  ???  ???

Just to clear thing's up for someone who can hopefully edit what appears to be a mashup of outdated MTB info and roadride info

Quote
Saturday rides are usually about 2-3 hours long and consist of people who are using it as a bit of a training session, the pace is fast but achievable if you had good fitness. These rides start at 10:00 from the Beanscene in town and generally finish up at Corrieri's.

Sunday rides have been split into two sections. The first, which leaves at 11:00 is for people who want a faster cycle (or who can't make it out in the afternoon), but not wanting it to be a training run.

1. Saturday rides are as long as folk want to stay out, but generally last from 9.30am to about 2ish depending on where we go and who's out in the group.

2. Training session? Seriously? No, I don't think so. The pace is suited to everyone on the ride. Fast folk can go fast if they want to willy-waggle, but there is always a place in the group for slower riders.  ;) I think I can speak for most of the regular riders when I say that we ride more as a social club on wheels. It's more about having a laugh on the bikes in good company, than who's burnt the highest calories or has the highest heart rate.

3. Start from Costa's on a Saturday at 9.30am, the roadies finish at Corleones, we tend to finish at Barga's if we're over that side of town (better coffee and nicer serving staff)  ;)

4. Sunday rides tend to be organised on the board rather than as a regular ride and are usually longer rides so are more suited to fitter folk.

"Ship?" he called. "Yup?" said the ship. "Do what I do." The ship thought about this for a few milliseconds and then, after double checking all the seals on its heavy-duty bulkheads, it began slowly, inexorably, in the hazy blaze of its lights, to sink to the lowest depths. -Douglas Adams

Yes- I'm aware that there is quite a bit of outdated stuff on the site.

Normally this would be for Richard Barton, webmaster to fix but he is increasingly snowed under with work and family commitments- go easy on him! Maybe we need some helping hands to update the website content.

I might have access/modifier priveliges- if so I could see if I could update it myself without breaking it- if I can fit it in with the work/family commitments!

Tell Barton I've liberated two packets of ginger biscuits from that there London specifically for him. He doesnt get them til the site is sorted.

That ought to motivate him!
