Are any SBCers planning to go to this?
Or have ridden it in the past?
I was thinking of doing the Go-Ride event, but was wondering what to expect.

good fun.  Hard if you lose concentration and find yourself at the back - end up sprinting out every corner and then it's goodnight vienna.

I did one last year and lasted three laps or so before getting shelled.  Schoolboy error was positioning myself at the front and every time someone sprinted away I chased them without realising that it would all come back anyway so two rules:

stay up near the front

let others do the chasing

sorted!

Hi Andy, i will be up there during the day with youngsters doing a coaching course and will probably hang on for the Crits if I have any legs left  :-\

Its a fairly level course with a couple of tight corners and usually a headwind down the back straight and a big puddle at the hairpin!!

Last year Andrew Abbess raced in the Go-Ride or cat 4 once his kids had finished their races. There are usually a few Stirling riders in the senior race too. So worth coming up to either support those in the big race and see what the Go-Ride race is all about - or just get in there and mix it (if you get spat out - which I don't think you will - you sit up and recover - and although lapped riders are usually pulled off the circuit - they have been leniant at the novice races in the past  ;) )

Archie.

yup - in the diddy race you can stay in as long as you don't interfere when the race comes past you again.  At least, that was the way of it last year.
