Bo'ness Dig in around the Dock
« on: January 09, 2012, 03:19:05 PM »
Here's a preview of the course for Dig in around the Dock at Bo'ness on the 29th of January. Should be a good fast race so even if you're not entering it is likely to be a good race to come and watch.

If you do want to enter you can do so here - http://www.entrycentral.com/index.php?raceID=101345
the race is already more than half-full

I had to bail due to feeling illl still, but went down to watch, take pics and for the craic. Well done Andy Rafferty for getting in there and competing on a flat fast course that gave no respite.

Mccallum won it in a sprint from lines and montgomery. more info on Braveheart no doubt. I will have some photos up in due course for anyone who is interested.

Well done the organisers, great atmosphere, hope it is on again next year.

well done Andy.  It was painful to watch near the end but well done for finishing.  We've all been there - at least you didn't chuck it!

Next time I won't cycle the +20m to get there.

I felt ok when I went round the course to check it out.

But within 100 meters of the gun went I knew it was going to be a really tough day at the office.  An hour in hell indeed...

But now I know what I need to do for the 2012 SCX season.

Get fitter and faster ha ha ha

But also work on getting off & on the bike quicker and general handling skills in the mud and off-camber sections.

All brilliant fun it has to be said.

did you ride home as well?

I made that mistake at Auchentoshan in 2010 - rode out along the canal path from Cumbernauld.  I did chuck that race though and still had to ride home.

Nah, always get a lift to CX races  - they are hard enough.  You can get your miles in some other time!!

It's easy in hindsight to think about what you could do quicker, etc. but at the time it's all you can do to keep turning the pedals.

Well done

P.S. I was the gimp at the bridge with the bright orange jacket trying to shout encouragement

Come along and watch and learn from the Warriors.  A humbling experience  :'(

Grant, I got a lift home from Andy from FBC(?) and Owen.
Very handy.

I don't remember anyone giving support in particular, as I was wrapped up in my own world of pain.  But the support in general was phenomenal!

Steve, I could probably learn a lot from the Warriors, of that I have no doubt.
