That was a great tribute to Lew today Jim, felt the need to clap and cheer, but of course not the time and place.

It was a very nice Memorial Service overall and I came away feeling very  humbled.

It's given me a renewed urge to get back out on club rides.

See you soon.

Robert.

Least I could have done for the great man, still to sink in he is away!
Always think it is better at funerals that someone says something that actually knew the person.
Would be great to see you back out Robert, still cycling to work?
Should have come back to Broomhall, you would have loved talking to everyone.
Great to see Bill Craig(ex secy of VCO), Andrew Caldwell( another ex secy VCO) and Alan Rae, stalwart of CSW.
Was also good to get promises from Joe mcleod and stevie Buchanan that they would definitely be back out, soon !
It was also a pleasure to meet Jimmy Rae.
Really good turn out of cyclists, Margaret and the family were really pleased.

Not cycling at all really these days I'm afraid Jim, as a change in job sees me working away from home most weeks.

Last summer, tried taking my bike with me, but found it too boring and stressful on un-familiar roads.

Cheers,

Robert.

Would like to echo Robert's post; that was a great speach about Lew from your good self Jim.  Very moving & funny and captured Lew's character perfectly.  Realised that I must have stopped cycling back in the VCO days just as Lew was coming in to revolutionise the club's approach and make cycling in Stirling what it is now - 300+ member's is a great legacy to him....

Also thought his family did him proud & gave him a grand send off.

Better get ready for the spin class - see you folks when the shifts roll round to weekends off again at end of February.
