Congratulations to Rhona Callander on riding the Youth Tour of Ireland
Unfortunatly on her last race in the Tour yesterday she suffered a heavy crash that resulted in a major break of her right collarbone
- Get well soon Rhona

Congrats on getting the invite to the Youth Tour Rhona, but sorry to hear of the broken collar bone
All the best road racers have lumpy shoulders
You'll just have to eat your low fat, high energy Fish supper with the other hand
Get well soon.

Still waiting to hear if they have decided to operate or not on Rhona
West and East of Scotland Regions both helped support teams of riders to compete at this 3 day stage race. ERC had a spare place in the girls and invited Rhona along- a great opportunity.

Rhona's bearing up remarkably well...and not lost her sense of humour! Nor her friends. She was presented with a large KitKat today that said, " Have a break, have a KitKat" !!!
She's waiting for the doc she saw at FVRH to get a second opinion, hopefully tomorrow. Given her age, her cycling interest and the fact that the very displaced bones didn't align up much with strapping, the docs are wondering if she wouldn't be better getting surgery...So if anyone out there has any knowledge of such matters do post up?!
Rhona says thanks for the best wishes and hopes to be back in action asap...

I know nothing about surgery but if you are looking for volunteers, I can get hold of some knitting needles to try and help poke the bones back into place...I was a dab hand at kerplunk as a youth!
On a less serious note though, I hope whatever is decided helps Rhona make a very speedy recovery...not good being out of action so get well soon and get biking. Try and get a loan of a turbo so you can at least spin the legs after the repair has had time to bed down and settle.

Sorry to hear about this- sounds a bit nasty- get well.
It's quite a 'pro' injury though: "I dropped out of the youth tour of Ireland with a broken collarbone".
Hope you're back in action soon

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Rhona. That road biking is dangerous - time you focused on a more sensible branch of the sport
I've a friend who had surgery on his collarbone. It worked really well, but he did have to insist that they take the metalwork back out once the bones had healed.
