'Round 3 of the 2002 Scottish cyclo-cross series took place on a windy but dry day at Sighthill Park in Glasgow. Series leader Dan Whitehead was not present, but 39 other riders were on the start line.

The early leader at the end of the first round was Stephen Jackson of host club, Glasgow Mountainbike Club, closely followed by Ian Nimmo of Merlin Rock Lobster, winner of the previous round at Callander.
By the end of the second lap, the positions were reversed, with Nimmo going on to build a commanding lead and win the race by 2 minutes and 49 seconds.
Behind him Jackson gave chase, but was losing time on each lap. By lap 5, Stephen Couper of Glasgow United moved into second place, with Gareth Montgomerie, Ride On, moving into third on Lap 7. In a move just befor the finish Montgomerie passed Couper to snatch second place by 3 seconds. 4th place went to James Melville of Glasgow United with Norman Gillan 5th, and early leader Stephen Jackson 6th.

Leading veteran, Colin Shearer of Midlothian RT, came home in 7th place, with leading Junior,Douglas Shearer of Stirling Bike Club, one place behind him in 8th.'
