Stirling Bike Club's Big Day Out
Glentress - 24th August 2002

A group of ten, featuring Richard Barton, Stuart Wilson (not of the bike shop)*, Iain, Colin Duguid, Colin-the-Roadie, Kieran Hay, Chris-the-German, Nina Turner (almost a sister to the Karaoke Queen - Tina!), Eric Riftzone and Crispin#1 "I've got disk brakes and I'm going to use them" Bennett

We rode the Red route, picking up some of the Black route for the North Shore stuff.

Eric 'RiftZone' rifting away...
Riftzone on one the early descents

Here he comes...looking quite happy with himself!
Iain Hay - first time on a bike in months

Dick Barton...dicking about...
Dick Barton wheezes his way to the top - yes those are his arms and not bits of spaghetti!!!

Waiting in the rain...does the body good!
Riftzone bursts on to the scene at the viewpoint

These were all grass when i were a lad...claimed Stuart.
Stuart and Richard exchange mince

Nina looking like she is well up for it!
January's picture is taken care of for the new Stirling Bike Club pin-up calander
(webmaster's note - we will try and make some sort of calendar photo gallery at some stage...don't know what will be in it, but scenery and ladies are top on the list (along with bikes!!!))

Eric about to get steaming hot...
After this descent we amused ourselves by getting Riftzone's new disk-brakes to steam

Easy Tiger!
Riftzone rides North Shore steps - how cool is that?!

They made me do it Maw!!!
Richard tackles the steps and climbs back up to have another go
Ok, I did it myself the second time...

Colin tackles the North Shore ramp
The man looks worried...
...but manages to ride off into the sunset!

It must be easy because even Crispin has a go
Yes, the long-distance tourer does ride North-Shore-light stuff!

Emerging at the finish with beaming grins
An advantage to slwoer riders - you get more pictures taken!!!

January's Girl at the end

LUNCHTIME!!!
Richard, Colin Duguid, Kieran, Swnotofthebikeshop*, and Colin-the-roadie enjoy coffee and bacon butties at the hub

It's the Muppet Show......and Gonzo has the limelight!
And that's February taken care of...

A good day out!

*A big "Hi" to all HBoS employees!
