With Dundee cancelled due to safety reasons the venue was switched to Meadowbank for both days. Despite the weather having some input into proceedings, the Capital venue provided two days of super competitive racing from youths as far a field as the East Midlands.
Rhona C and Speedy both fancied their chances despite it being Callums first track race and Rhona not having an abundance of Track experience. Speedy was disappointed to find only two competitors in the D category but gave 100% and took the win on Saturday but was out witted on the final sprint race on Sunday and the No.1 spot was shared over the two days.
Rhona was mixing it with the best in Britain but her inexperience showed on day 1 but she still manged a more than respectable 5th.
Sunday was a different day and Miss Callander wasn't going to make the same mistakes twice, 3rd in the Scratch, 2nd in the Elimination and 4th in the points race placed Rhona 2nd equal with two others despite the southerners playing team tactics for the duration. Unfortunately the rain halted proceedings and the final positions were decided by the last race giving Rhona 4th place, another outstanding performance with podiums to follow in the tack discipline for sure.
A big thanks to Edd Shackley form Glasgow Riderz and Martin Harris from Discovery Juniors for all their help with lending bikes, wheels, advice etc etc.
