Hi Paul. Thanks for info. We’re sticking to that weekend as a few who are attempting it are free that weekend. We identified that hill as my plan was to hopefully gather 16 participants who would complete the eversting challange as a group ( I have 6 so far) making us ride in a group so to be protected in the event of any head winds and each can have a shot towing. The group climbing Everest in November are on target to raise about 100K ( there’s 32) and I’m hoping my effort along with a few other small fundraising can bring in 10K for it. I’d ideally prefer not to move dates etc as we as a group have pinpointed that date so we all can attempt it. I’d really appreciate it if yourself and any others want to fully participate or just rattle up a few laps. The Dunning hasn’t been done so hence the attractiveness to Everest a climb for the first time with friends and club mates.
I’ve was out with a few rides last year on the 10am rides (chris rides with the tempo group) and Andy rides along with myself. Once the weather lifts a bit we’ll definitely back to the club rides so happy to catch a coffee after and chat over

Thanks for posting. Great minds think alike, and I am also planning on an everesting this summer, and also identified that Dunning Glen segment as the best option around here. So keen to join your group if possible.
I'm only recently out regularly with the club, but have been with the tempo group the last few weeks. Are you guys ever out with the 10am Sat rides, if so would be good to meet up?
One thought I had was to identify 3 or 4 potential weekends around the longest day, and go with the first available weather window - i.e. avoiding rain and headwinds if possible. Appreciate that may be trickier logistically, but I did a trial run in December - 6 reps of this segment with a significant uphill headwind - and felt the headwind made it quite a bit harder.
Hi Chi. If you wanted your name in the Hall of Fame you would have to cycle the full thing. I think Andy meant that anyone who didn't fancy that would be more than welcome to do a few laps to help keep him company rather than as a relay event.
From 4am to 10pm Saturday night - epic doesn't adequately describe the challenge! Put me down to do some relay laps from early to late morning for you guys.
BTW how does the relay thing work if it is permitted?

I hope this finds you well. I’m looking to see if anyone from the club would like to join myself and a couple of others completing the Eversting challenge.
I’m climbing Everest in November for Marie Curie and to raise awareness and sponsorship, myself, Chris O Hanlon and Andy Learmonth from the club are doing the event on June 22nd at Dunning Hill (we don’t think it’s been done before)
Again it’s just to either compete and finish it with us or help with a few climbs while we rest and re fuel. Aiming to kick of around 4am.
