On Sunday we held our first women’s initiative group ride, including a coffee and cake stop. It was an ideal opportunity to regain confidence and learn new group riding skills in a social and relaxed environment. Thank you to Brenda and Beth for leading the groups and to all the women who took part, well done. Will update details for ride #2 once confirmed 🚴🏽♀️
If I can figure the Spond thing, I might be up for ride. I'll admit to not being comfortable coming out of Covid so I may wimp, but I need to start somewhere.... Thanks for organising. I'll get back to you if/when Spond sorted. Running it on tablet as no smartphone so hope it works.
Possibly can make this ride but have guests leaving my home that morning, so the later the start the more likely it is that I can make it. Not to worry if early suits you Christina and other riders, I'll be along another time.
Thank you for all your responses, great to see such a positive interest. While we get the bike maintenance training dates and venue confirmed we can offer a date to commence the women’s specific group ride.
The first group ride will be Sunday 6th June, the route will be based round the numbers and levels of cyclist interested. This will be a development ride to introduce group etiquette and skills to build confidence. We will also include a complimentary coffee (cake optional, but recommended) stop.
This will be organised through the Spond app to ensure COVID-19 guideline are followed and track & trace information is provided.
In order to organise a route/groups please add your name if you would like to come along on the 6th June.

Thank you for all your replies, as we have had a great response to this we will go ahead with the project. It will most likely start with the bike maintenance training, as soon as I have more details I will post up here.

Sign me up please Christina as my ‘Bike Fairy’ doesn’t do much more than give it a once over with a wet wipe so I’m definitely interested in the bike maintenance (not bothered about ladies only rides I have to say, but if they go hand in hand I’ll grin & bear it ... lol)!
