Looks like there are a few folks up for a ride tomorrow, so see you all at the Peak at 10am plus anyone else that wants to join us.

Weather looks decent compared to today although with a 15-17mph westerly wind and possibility of a chilly start but should heat up.

So have decided to go west and have suggested a fairly low route (exception being up TOTW) - out along Gargunnock Rd, TOTW to Fintry and along to Balfron then Rob Roy roundabout and back in through Thornhill and Chalmerston Road. Route can be found here - www.strava.com/routes/17594098 - 53 miles and 2,200ft

There are options to vary it once we see how the roads are - can keep it flatter (not do TOTW) or even add in some more hills (Big Braes/Mini Braes) if the road conditions are good and the group is up for it.

Usual stuff applies - layer up on clothing, plenty of food/drink, spare tubes etc plus proper mudguards!

See you in the morning.

Alan.

Well said Alan regarding mudguards. Have a good ride. I'll be leading (or riding on my own!) an off-road alternative.

I ride to drink!

In light of the Saturday rides being cancelled this week and the “better” weather forecast for Sunday, I’ll be going out for a decent length ride on Sunday so happy to offer to lead a Middle type ride if others want to join me?

I’ll wait to see the response here (please post up if you’re interested) and also what the weather/wind looks like nearer the time before planning a route but all the usual group ride rules will apply!

So I f you’re interested in a Middle Group ride leaving the Pesk @10am on SUNDAY please let me know.

Special Request - There has been a fair bit of chat between the Ride Leads about the number of riders turning up for group rides with “Arse Saver” rather than full mudguards in recent wet weeks. These are fine for keeping parts of yourself dry (clue is in the title) but offer zero protection from wet or crap-covered roads to those riding behind you.

So.....no names....please ensure you have full mudguards fitted given the weather can be very changeable, at least until the summer rides kick in!!

Rant over.....anyone up for a ride on SUNDAY?

Alan
