Thanks for the responses folks - looks like we should have a decent group. So far I've got :

Davie
Stuart
Ross
Lorenzo
John
Alan C
Christine
Paul
Gill
Christina
Alan M
Dougie T

Remember, it's the 0945 sailing from Ardrossan Harbour that we're aiming for. Foot passengers are last to board (usually 10mins before sailing) but I'd advise getting there a bit earlier (about 9am). There's a large car park (£5 for parking) and ferry tickets can be purchased at the ticket office (you can't miss it).

The current weather forecast is mostly encouraging. A few blustery showers but also sunny intervals. The only possible fly in the ointment is the wind strength as this can lead to ferry cancellations (there have been some today). So please keep an eye on this link :

If there's anything else that I haven't covered just post up.

See you tomorrow (hopefully !).

Hi Folks,

The Tempo Group is planning an away day to Arran this Saturday (so please note that there probably won't be a Tempo group leaving from the Peak). The plan is to get the 0945 ferry from Ardrossan arriving in Brodick at 1040. The planned route is approx 75 miles going over the String Road, heading South before going over the Ross road then heading up the West side of the island before finishing with the climb out of Lochranza and back to Brodick. Total ascent should be about 5000ft and we'll probably average 17-18mph. Current forecast looks a bit of a mixed bag but good enough.

Ferry tickets cost £8 for a return from Ardrossan (you can buy them at the ticket office at Ardrossan Harbour).

So who is up for it ? If you fancy joining us please reply to this post so that we can get an idea of who to look out for on Saturday morning.

Cheers.
