Hardly a breath of wind this evening, don't think I've ever seen it like that on the A811 course before. Well done all!

Huge thanks to Fraser Purves, Chi, Grant Speed and Graham Brown for marshalling and timekeeping duties!
Next round will be the hilly TT on Wednesday 24th August
The third round of the series has been open for entry on Spond for a few days, and is due to run this coming Wednesday, 29th June, again with a later start time of 7.30 to hopefully have some lighter traffic to contend with. It's as 2-up TT, so if you sign up, let me know who you're paired with. If you can't find a partner to ride with, I'll take solo entries too.
Note the sign on is again at the Touch Road layby at the entrance to Garshellach Forest, 0.3 miles from the junction with the A811.
*Last time there were quite a few people congregating around this area - please do not do so this time. People were standing in the road, and at times it was getting to be as dangerous as us using the A811 layby. Please sign on, get your number, and leave the sign-on area to warm-up.*
Please do not park at the sign-on - there is no room for extra vehicles. Either ride out to the TT, or park in Cambusbarron/King's Knot area and ride down to sign-on.
Make sure you have a working rear light fitted. NO REAR LIGHT, NO START.
As always, please post up if you can help out with timekpeeing or marshalling. We only have one volunteer so far and we'll need 2 or 3 timekeepers, and a couple of marshals.
I've been Covid positive for about a week now. I'm hoping I will be OK by Wednesday, but in my absence I may need someone to set up the warning signs and run sign-on.

Folks - the second round of the club confined time trial series takes place on Wednesday evening. Our Events Manager puts a lot of work into organising these events and at the moment only 8 riders out of the 41 available spaces have been taken. So, if you can, please join in by signing up on the Spond platform - come on, support the event and give it a go. Details of the event are posted below. Myself and others will be out there marshalling so see you there.
A great evening for a TT but a deceptively strong headwind all the way! Well done to all those who took part, and thanks to Jim, Jackie and Graham for timekeeping. Results below:

Wednesday 25th May: 10 mile TT
Course: The A811 10 mile course
Sign-on: Touch Road layby at the entrance to Garshellach Forest, 0.3 miles from the junction with the A811 NOTE: Last year we had some concerns about the safety of riders coming in and out of the layby on the A811 - we will not be using this layby for sign-on this year. Please do not park at the sign-on - there is no room for extra vehicles. Either ride out to the TT, or park in Cambusbarron/King's Knot area and ride down to sign-on.
Wednesday 29th June: 2-up TT
2-up TT - ride in pairs, time taken from the second rider across the line.
Course: Start a few yards short of the Kippen roundabout on the B822, head in to Stirling, round King's Knot roundabout and back to finish alongside the entrance to Boquhan House on the A811, ~1 km from the Kippen roundabout.
Sign-on: Woodhouse cafe car park.
Wednesday 31st August: 1 mile TT
Course: To be confirmed.
Sign-on: Woodhouse cafe car park
First rider off at 7.01 pm in every case.
Registering for these TTs will take place via Spond. If you've not already signed up for Spond, please do so - it's very easy to do, and will be required for you to take part in most of our club activities.
If you are not planning to take part, we could use your services as a volunteer. For each TT we'll need start and finish timekeepers, and various marshals depending on the course.
I'm pleased to announce that Scottish Cycling have changed their rules on club-confined time trials, and second claim members may now take part.
SBC Club Confined Time Trial Series
How The Events Will Run
These time trials are run via Scottish Cycling/British Cycling.
The time trials are created on Spond – accept the invitation if you want to attend.
You need to respond 24 hours ahead of the scheduled race time.
After entries close 24 hours before the race, I will create the start sheet and post this on Spond and the club forum.
On The Night
You must have a working rear light fitted and in use for the race.
Please cycle to the start, rather than drive, if you can.
Collect your race number from the organiser at sign-on and sign the sign-on sheet.
Do not warm-up on the course.
The start timekeeper will call you forward and set you off.
At the finish, shout out your number to the timekeeper.
Take care when turning around after the finish to return to HQ.
Return your number off in the box in the organiser’s car boot
Results will be posted up after the event on the forum.
