On the 19th February the Super Quaich series concluded closer to home with the final round in Bo'ness. This popular event sees some of the UK's top riders all competing around the fields and docks area, with a great turnout of local support to cheer them on. There was a festival-like atmosphere with face-painting, free cowbells, a samba band and hot drinks and food for onlookers to enjoy.
Those Stirling riders and their placings are as follows:
Brenda Callander - 1st Veteran Woman, 49th Overall
Helen Gorman - 11th Senior Woman, 74th Overall
Colin Chisholm - 102nd
Derek Eadie - 103rd
It is great to see Brenda continuing her winning form in her first outing of the Super Quaich. There was a big turnout in both races with a higher quality field than in previous events. Colin took part in the racing despite really not feeling very well and although having his lowest finish of the series, made a big effort just to get to the line. A better result for Derek Eadie this time out however, after suffering mechanical failure in the Doonbank event.
Also suffering from illness was Derek Ditty who had placed well in the A race at the first 2 events, who unlike Colin made the sensible decision and didn't race! Despite this, Derek managed to make the top 100 in the overall series results in 54th place.
