The Road section meets at The Peak, Stirling Sports Village Forthside Way, Stirling FK8 1QZ from 10.00am on Saturday (Oct-Mar incl.) and 9.00am on Saturday (April-September incl.) for rides to suit all abilities from absolute beginner to Racers.

We aim to cater for all abilities with typical ride groups as below, however, we will on occasion change the composition of the groups to suit the abilities of the riders.

Saturday Rides

10:00am Easy/Development Group - The pace of the ride is relaxed and aimed at riders wanting their first introduction to group riding on the road. It is the best group to go for if you are a new to road cycling or if you’re returning to road cycling after a long lay-off due to injury and just want to slowly get back in the game.

Distance is typically 30 - 40 miles at an easy pace of 13-14 mph

10:00am Intermediate Group - this group is one step up from the easy group and aimed at riders who have a good level of base fitness and have some experience of riding in a group, are looking to improve their group riding skills or are looking to progress from the easy group to a ride that is a little faster and longer.

Distance is typically 40 - 55 miles at a pace of 14-15 mph

10:00am Middle Group - this group is one step up from the Intermediate group and aimed at riders who have a good level of base fitness, cycle regularly with experience of riding in a group that are looking to progress to longer rides over varying terrain at a higher pace.

Distance is typically 55-65 miles at a pace of 15-17 mph

10:00am Tempo Group - as indicated by the name the pace of this group is a little faster and the routes often longer and a bit hillier. The fitness level required for this group is higher than that of the easy/intermediate or middle rides, aimed at those looking for a faster pace at middle group distance, etc. Good bike handling skills in a tight bunch are required for this group.

Distance is typically 60 - 75 miles at a pace of 17-19 mph

10:00am Fast Group - as indicated by the name the pace of this group is a little faster and the routes often longer and a bit hillier. The fitness level required for this group is higher than that of the easy/intermediate or middle rides, aimed at those interested in racing etc. Good bike handling skills in a tight bunch are required for this group.

Distance is typically 70+ miles at a pace of 20+ mph

Sunday Rides (Summertime rides only - from the first Sunday in April through to the end of September)

10:00am Intermediate Group - this group is one step up from the easy group and aimed at riders who have a good level of base fitness and have some experience of riding in a group, are looking to improve their group riding skills or are looking to progress from the easy group to a ride that is a little faster and longer.

Distance is typically 40 - 55 miles at a pace of 14-15 mph

10:00am Middle Group - this group is one step up from the Intermediate group and aimed at riders who have a good level of base fitness, cycle regularly with experience of riding in a group that are looking to progress to longer rides over varying terrain at a higher pace.

Distance is typically 45-65 miles at a pace of 15-17 mph
